Firstly, Alprazolam, available under the trade name Xanax is a potent, short-acting benzodiazepine anxiolytic—a minor tranquilizer. It is commonly used for the treatment of anxiety disorders, especially of panic disorder, but also in the treatment of generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) or social anxiety disorder. It was the 12th most prescribed medicine in the United States in 2010. Alprazolam, like other benzodiazepines, binds to specific sites on the GABAA receptor. Anxiety associated with depression is also responsive to Xanax. Buy Xanax 3mg Online For Sale.
Greatest alleviation of generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) may take up to a week. It has been suggested that there is tolerance to the anxiolytic and antipanic effects of the drug, but not all authorities agree; tolerance will, however, develop to the sedative and hypnotic effects within a couple of days. Withdrawal symptoms or rebound symptoms may occur after ceasing treatment abruptly following a few weeks or longer of steady dosing
The recommended daily dose of Xanax is 0.75 to 1.5 mg throughout the day. It’s hard to overdose on Xanax, but Xanax overdose is possible, usually in combination with other drugs.

I have been prescribed Xanax 8 mg QID at first in 2007, along with Klonopin 6 mg 3x daily every 8 hours apart. It is now 2025, and I am 36 years old. Xanax is a wonderful drug if you have panic disorder, paranoia from abuse, and anxiety disorder with severe agoraphobia. After I got away from my daily abuse when I was 18 and had no idea why I was on this earth, and every pebble that hit the ground made me have a fit of panic-based mania, Xanax was the only thing that helped me. The only downside is after this long of taking it, the tolerance is a huge challenge. Having the longer-acting Klonopin works well alongside. I give it a 9 for Xanax, and that’s because long-term use has me so addicted I don’t know how to function without it. Good vibes to all.

It’s been a miracle for my anxiety. Unfortunately, fixture won’t prescribe it in 2025. My depression is bad and so many panic attacks. I’m afraid to leave my house or drive. It’s ridiculous they are too scared to prescribe it. I did the genetic testing and I can’t take any antidepressant. What do they expect me to do? My quality of life is terrible now.

Been on Xanax for 10 years. I take 6 mg a day, 4 at night, 2 in the morning. Without them, I could not function. Thank God my sister-in-law is a psychiatrist, or I would never get 180 a month. I know a Vietnam vet who gets 240 a month. Never had a problem since taking the drug. Sleep good (4 at night, I would think so) no grogginess in the morning. But that’s all I take except a multivitamin. I jog, eat right, and am in perfect physical condition for 65. Might get a little forgetful, but nothing serious.

The withdrawals are hell on earth, it’s like being tortured alive. It’s not just the withdrawals that are bad but the long-term brain damage that will ensue afterwards that I don’t wish on my worst enemy.

This medication works great. I take 1 mg at night for anxiety. I sleep better too.

I was prescribed alprazolam 22 years ago. I had a tendency to be fast to anger and to verbally lash out at people that I loved. After trying many SSRI-type medications, my family doctor gave me a prescription for alprazolam. Everything in my life got better, and I was much happier. I was on 0.5 milligrams and stayed there for over 20 years. I never took it as prescribed because I only needed 1 pill a day taken at bedtime. My doctor retired last year, and my new doctor refused to allow me to continue on the medication. So for six months, my insomnia has taken my sleep and joy away. My BP is out of control because my doctor thought my previous beta blocker was bad for me. Somebody find me a doctor that is not working for a corporation, taking their cue from some damn handbook. Oh, by the way, I am no longer able to take international flights or continue scuba diving due to my new friend anxiety. So because we have a group of people that abuse medications, we will punish the ones that don’t!

Started having panic attacks when I retired. Was given alprazolam, which works well. Was on it for 10 years. My new doctor was incompetent and wrote my script for 15 days instead of a month as usual. I ran out of medication. Was unable to contact the doctor after numerous attempts. So I was left without it for a week, an end of pure hell. Withdrawal was horrible. But I got off it and changed doctors. It is a great medication, but be careful. Only use as much as needed. I was on 0.5mg when I stopped.

The miracle medicine that helps me sleep with no stress, no pain. I need it every day just to feel better.

The first time I tried Xanax was when I had colitis. This medicine is quite good at preventing pain and making you sleep. Use with a doctor’s or psychiatrist’s prescription, don’t use a lot because it will cause addiction.

I take alprazolam 0.5 mg 3x a day, and it really helps with my anxiety and panic attacks. I had a major anxiety attack the other day when I missed my scheduled dose. It is best to take the medication as prescribed. I now use a days-of-the-week pillbox to remind me to take it.

Was first prescribed this seventeen years ago after years of panic and anxiety and trying other useless medicines due to many deaths and tragedies in my family. What a revelation. Taking 0.5 once a day made me feel, for the first time in years, normal. I’m not on a regimen, just as needed, and usually take 2-6 per month as needed. Doctors would not prescribe it, so had to see a psychiatrist in a big city who was quite understanding. I am 70 years old now and cannot believe the medical community ignored my concern for so long. Thank you to the mental health experts. I have had not one issue with dependency. But at my age, I would not care if I were dependent.

Developed chronic anxiety when my mom passed at age 10. I was a lab rat for the physicians who treated me. I’m a treatment/drug-resistant patient who’s been on every drug known. Prescribed Alprazolam as a last resort, after I developed irreversible mental & physical damage caused by “safer” SSRIs, SNRIs, & antipsychotic drugs that almost cost my life. I take 2 mg of Xanax 4 times daily (10 mg total), a combination of amphetamine/dextroamphetamine quad salts (Adderall IR) 30 mg 2 times daily, Desoxyn (Methamphetamine HCl) 10 mg as needed for ADHD & Endocet (Oxycodone HCl) 7.5/325 as needed for pain. Every other disorder is treated with Xanax & is the only reason I’m able to leave this post. I have social phobia, generalized anxiety disorder, CPTSD, PNES (psychogenic non-epileptic seizure disorder) catatonia, & a few cardiovascular, neurological, & gastrointestinal disorders & one drug is able to treat them all. It literally saved me. I’m 33 now.

I take it for GAD, which appears to have a genetic component, and my 10-day prescription lasts me for 6 months. I take the lowest dose. How it helps me is it literally makes me forget to perseverate. I take one occasionally for sleep. It is a very rare day indeed if I ever take two, or two in a week. I’m used to having GAD, so I’m able to take the meds when I feel I cannot cope with having anxiety at that moment. It also stops the constant thoughts that keep me awake at night on occasion. However, I’ve avoided taking it for sleep. Because I can make a prescription last so long, I think my doctor is willing to continue to prescribe it, obviously, I’m not abusing it nor addicted to it.

Have been taking this med for years. Am on a lower dose but still helps. This med has been demonized. If it helps people, quit making it a bad drug. Some people need this med to live a normal life. Before I took it, I would get panic attacks, I wouldn’t even take my kids to the zoo for fear of getting attacks. After being prescribed this med, I went on trips, took my children places. It made my life better. Wish more doctors realized how much it helps some people and quit trying to take it away from patients… that alone greatly increases the anxiety that this med helps.

Alprazolam has improved my quality of life dramatically; more than any other anxiolytic I have tried, including other benzodiazepines. I’m diagnosed with panic disorder with specific phobia and have experienced debilitating panic attacks throughout my entire life. My fear dictated my life before I began taking alprazolam. Since beginning alprazolam, that has no longer been the case. I now feel as though I’m in control of my life since I’m not perpetually paralyzed by fear. I’ve been taking 3 mg daily for five years now with no loss of benefit. Initial side effects consisted of drowsiness, which subsided fairly rapidly. Overall, alprazolam has been an absolute godsend for the treatment of my panic attacks.

I want to start by saying that I was one of those people who was iffy on taking Xanax due to the stigma surrounding it and having never been prescribed it before. My psychiatrist prescribed me it for panic attacks I was having. I primarily wanted something for the panic because it was happening during college tests/assessments and was seriously beginning to affect my grades. It definitely helps to calm down my panic without making me drowsy at all. However, I do sometimes take half of a dose as I noticed my full dose (0.25 mg) was almost making me too relaxed and causing careless errors as opposed to stress-induced errors. All in all, Xanax has been a lifesaver for me as my panic attacks can get quite severe and cause intense tremors that make it very hard to do anything! Again, Xanax has not caused any drowsiness for me and I have had no negative side effects when taking it. But I only take it when absolutely needed, and we only fill half a month to a month’s worth of them every 2-3 months.

Xanax has been a godsend for my POTS. I originally went on it for anxiety related to a traumatic event at work (I am a paramedic, use your imagination). It was supposed to be a temporary med twice a day at 0.5 mg so I could sleep and function at work, but has ended up being a (hopefully) permanent med that helps my POTS so much. The stupid random adrenaline surges caused by POTS have all but disappeared. I am almost never super dizzy. My insomnia is better, my exercise tolerance is better, and my overall health and happiness have improved. Even my migraines and GI issues have improved, probably from the reduction in cortisol surging through my system. I am writing this review so that hopefully anyone struggling to convince their doctor that they need Xanax can show them this review along with all the other ones and be persuaded to at least give it a chance. Xanax is a drug with a lot of stigma, but it can be so incredibly helpful and massively improve quality of life.

I have had Generalized Anxiety Disorder most of my life to the point it makes me sick with nausea, difficulty breathing, and racing heart. This happens mostly when I travel anywhere away from home, especially when I have to fly. With Xanax, I am able to travel and live a normal life. 99% of the time I only take it for sleep, but I do take it more when I travel. I have a very stressful job, and I would not be able to sleep without it. I would also not be able to get on an airplane without it. I have been to Europe four times, which I would never be able to do without Xanax. As someone else said, it’s my security blanket and I take it with me everywhere I go. I pray my doctor never stops prescribing it for me. I have never had withdrawals or any side effects. It’s a miracle drug for me! 10/10. Drug couldn’t work better. I have anxiety and racing thoughts. Take 0.25 or 0.5 and I’m good to go. I cannot believe how good this works for me. Don’t take too much or it will become less effective. I nibble on 0.5 during stressful work days and it always works for me.

This medication has saved my life! I have Tourette’s syndrome and severe OCD, and Xanax works amazingly well at stopping my tics and my stuttering! I can finally live a normal life without devastating anxiety and racing thoughts 24/7. I take Alprazolam 2mg twice daily and sometimes I save the 4th half for the next day, which is amazing! I’m really lucky to have a doctor who understands me. I have been a patient of his for over 15 years.

I’ve been on alprazolam for 7 years and only take it as needed, usually only 0.25 does the trick for me. It has helped me in times during my worst panic attacks such as crowded events or flying. I have no bad side effects besides the first time I took it I was a little sleepy, I think due to the fact I was relaxed. It’s also helped me sleep at times and helped with my tachycardia/fast heart rate! I would suggest not relying on this medication entirely as some people can find it addictive and have withdrawals, but overall a great medication in my experience.

Without a doubt the most effective medicine I’ve ever had. It gave me a fighting chance at life. Disappointing, the negative stigmas that surround it, but if you don’t constantly go up on your dose, it can make life manageable.

Every medical expert talks more negatively about Xanax as compared to its benefits. My experience till date is on the contrary. I am 70-plus with one functional kidney and two stents in my heart. I have been on Xanax 0.5 to 1 mg per day for over 25 years. Without Xanax, my life would have been miserable. Till date, by the grace of God, I have no negative issues that can be attributed to Xanax except dependence, which I don’t mind as I can afford it. But consider the pros and cons. I drive in a normal way, my balance is normal, and it has helped me get rid of sleepless nights. Researchers should also take into account the cost/benefit ratio of Xanax and avoid so much negativity. My cardiologist has no issue with my taking Xanax as he confirmed to me that it doesn’t lead to dementia. Please advise why I should leave Xanax and put myself in a miserable condition.

My doctor first prescribed this to me when I was in my early 20s due to tremors and heart palpitations. At that time I didn’t think it was anxiety, and my doctor didn’t specifically say it was either (maybe he didn’t want to argue when I told him I don’t think I have anxiety), but he prescribed me this until I could see a specialist to rule out any heart conditions. Now, 10 years later, I found Ativan to work better for anxiety. BUT, Xanax is still a lifesaver if that’s all they’ll give you. I find Xanax to be more intoxicating than Ativan, where I can still function on the latter. I found myself dropping things, tripping over stuff easily, but that’s just a side effect of any Benzo. I ONLY recommend this if you take it before bed.

I take 1mg XR and have had no adverse reactions. The initial sleepiness is gentle and goes away. The generic form is very easy to swallow. I don’t feel as anxious as I usually do. I’m able to think through the process of becoming anxious and see it for what it is. I am able to make a plan to usually avoid falling into the anxious mindset. I use a pharmacy discount card and it reduces the cost by 75%.

I have had horribly painful periods since puberty. Doctors have run many tests, even laparoscopy, and can’t find a cause. Hormonal treatment did not help. Pain management is my only choice. Ibuprofen sometimes does not cut it, and on those days, 0.5 mg to 1 mg Xanax does wonders. It was prescribed to me for anxiety and panic attacks, but I believe it should be prescribed to people for severe menstrual cramps as well. It works better than opioids or NSAIDs on those 2-3 days per month I am in horrible pain. I used to miss work on those days, but this lets me work. I do feel drowsy and don’t drive on this med, and I am aware of the potential for addiction and withdrawal, but with only a few pills prescribed to me per month, there is no danger of that.

Like most people, Xanax saved my life. My panic attacks turned into agoraphobia and left me housebound. I’ve been taking it for 30 years. It stopped working, I guess, because my system just got used to it. I’m on Clonazepam twice a day, and believe me, it’s NO replacement for Xanax. I just hope Xanax will work for me again.

This has saved my life. It’s not a cure but it’s the closest thing to it for me. Haven’t had to go up on a dose in years. It has given me at least a part of my life back.

I have been diagnosed with both general anxiety and panic disorder. After many different failed ‘talk therapy’ attempts and being taught coping skills that just didn’t work well for me, I was prescribed both Clonazepam for anxiety and Xanax for the superseding panic attacks which were unpredictable, embarrassing, and life-limiting. I only use them for that purpose and they work well, quickly, and with no side effects, to stop the panic in its tracks and leave behind a sense of relief. I don’t worry anymore about being caught out there in public helpless with one of these nasty panic episodes. This medication is an important tool for managing my diagnosis under the watchful guidance of a responsible doctor with the right expertise and careful dosing.

I can honestly say I’ve tried 3 or 4 different benzos. The first was Librium, the second was Valium, and now I’m on Ativan. I have a friend who gets alprazolam, and she gave me one the other day, and it was the first time I had felt freedom from a panic. Ativan makes my stomach upset. I’ve grown a tolerance for Valium, to where it doesn’t work, and Klonopin did not change anything, I felt the same. So, now I’m seriously hoping my doctor will prescribe me alprazolam because it’s the only effective thing I’ve ever taken, though I’ve never been prescribed it. I have a whole bottle of Ativan that I refuse to take because of the stomach upset. I know I took this with a doctor’s permission, but I know what works for me, and this medication definitely works. By the way, I’ve been diagnosed with generalized anxiety, panic disorder, agoraphobia, and nervous stressors. I’m definitely hoping they’ll put me on alprazolam because I’ve never felt so resistant to stress and nervousness. This is a great medication for panic disorder.

This medication is a lifesaver for those suffering from anxiety disorders. For someone suffering from a true anxiety disorder, this medication is not addictive. It can be a problem for someone who has other addictions, such as alcohol abuse disorder. That said, an addictive personality is going to risk addiction to ANY medication. This drug got a bad rap because of those people, and also from people who use it as a recreational drug. Most of those people are buying it on the street, not having it prescribed by a physician. This drug is safe and extremely effective. For those wishing to stop it, they should ALWAYS be titrated off it slowly over a long period of time. It is NEVER a good idea to do it quickly. Any responsible physician will tell you that. I highly recommend this medication for anxiety disorders, it changes lives for the better.

Helps me to function normally at work, as well as the odd social function I have to attend. I just hate the drowsiness so I take only half, though it is less effective. Find I don’t need them to sleep anymore.

I am a 42-year-old anxious male. I have been on Xanax on and off for 5 years. Xanax is super effective for me in social situations, presentations, making speeches, and expressing myself more (which has helped me release stress a lot). As a result, I have gained confidence, become more productive, and become more caring towards my friends and family. To maintain the current situation, I started taking more than I was prescribed and never had the fear of running out (because Xanax eliminated that fear). Things went downhill, of course, the day I ran out without even realizing. I have been caught in this cycle so many times and the withdrawal symptoms were unbearable. So my strategy was to hand over Xanax to my wife, and now she gives it to me only when needed. If you have been prescribed Xanax, please come up with a foolproof strategy to prevent the risk of experiencing Xanax withdrawal. Not only will you suffer, but everyone around you will suffer with you.

I wouldn’t be able to function without this medication. I have severe anxiety and panic disorder stemming from PTSD. I take 2mg tablets 3 times a day (6mg daily) and it works wonderfully. It makes me very calm but completely functional! Time seems to fly by. Little things that would normally anger and trigger me don’t even bother me anymore on this med. It truly is a godsend for me. Now, you will inevitably build a tolerance and some say you’ll need more to feel the same effects, but I’ve been on the same dose for several years and no loss of benefit, so go figure. After you’ve been on this med for a while, whatever you do, do not go cold turkey off this med, you will experience withdrawals, don’t expect to sleep at all, if you sleep an hour you’d be lucky, shake and sweat uncontrollably, and prepare to vomit for a week straight. But I do believe the benefits outweigh the risks for alprazolam as long as you can control yourself and be responsible with how you take this med.

Xanax is both a blessing and a curse. On one hand, it crushes anxiety and even calms my bowels. It makes me a much nicer and happier person… while I’m on it. It works like a miracle. HOWEVER, I quickly build up a resistance (I need more and more to achieve the same feeling) AND the withdrawal symptoms can be pretty intense. I mostly get fits of extreme anger that result in my throwing objects (not at anyone) and have little tolerance for other people. Sadly, these withdrawal symptoms even occur if I take it once every month or less. I keep it around for emergencies – if I have a big presentation or I need to be on TV speaking to the media. But I try to limit it due to these side effects. If they could make a Xanax equivalent that was not addictive and didn’t have withdrawal symptoms, it would be a true miracle drug.

What a terrible drug. Stay far, far away from it. Took it for 2 weeks only, and when I tried to stop, I got the worst anxiety of my life. Could not sleep for 5 days, went through extreme withdrawal. Have to wean off slowly. Can’t imagine how others who have taken this poison for a longer period of time will ever get off it.
