This medicine is truly life-saving! One and a half tablets is all I need (#45 a month) and I have zero cravings and feel completely normal! The Sublocade shot doesn’t work! Stay on the Subutex tablets, they work! I would highly recommend this medicine to anybody for pain and OUD.

This medicine saved my life. I started on Suboxone, but I was only on it for about 2 months before I got pregnant, so the doctor switched me to this. “No, my baby didn’t withdraw, APGAR score of 9 and I exclusively breastfed for 2 years.” Currently, after 6 years, I’m on 8mg twice a day. I’ve been clean for 6 years! My doctor says I can be on it for the rest of my life possibly, but that’s just fine. It’s better than being a junkie and living on the street doing awful things for drugs. But if you don’t want to be clean, this medicine won’t work for you. You also need to do therapy and possibly mental health medications as well, this drug won’t just solve your addiction problems but it makes it a LOT easier to get yourself together. The side effects are a lot less than with other opiates, and they really don’t bother me at all at this point. Tip for people using this for pain, the less you use, the better pain relief you’ll get. High doses are for maintenance.

This Medication saved my Life!! Just 1 8mg Subutex is all I needed and I can function properly. I’m also on Adderall and Subutex helps give me an Even keel. I have no desire for Opiates when I take Subutex. It’s really a Miracle drug! If you want off Opiates, I Highly recommend this! It saved my Life from a 20-year opiate addiction!

I have read every review on this medication and there seems to be one common thread. Every person that is addicted to opioids has a need to explain why, when, where, and how because that’s what opioids do…they change your brain chemistry. Every person’s reason is valid to them. I promise I’m not on a soapbox, I just wish after all these years someone could show me how to fix that part. I had been on pain pills for several years for chronic pain. My last year on them, I was prescribed 3 80mg oxy per day, 6 30mg oxycodone per day, 4 soma per day, and 3 1mg Xanax per day. I have been on maintenance buprenorphine now for 8 years at 24mg/day, until recently I was given an extra dosage up to 32mg/day. In my experience, it gave me my life back. I’ve only taken this medication for 8 years. It does not cover my pain completely. If I had to put a number on it, I would say maybe by 50%, but what’s my alternative? I would have died eventually by being prescribed that much medication.

It’s a wonder drug if you want to get off the opiates.”

Subutex, which has been discontinued, but the generic equivalent, buprenorphine HCl, has saved my life! Suboxone wasn’t for me. They started me on the Suboxone film, 8 mg, but it gave me terrible migraines. I switched to buprenorphine HCl, and all has been great! I was addicted to pain pills, coke, fentanyl patches, the works. But I got pregnant and decided I needed help. I actually got clean on my own at first while pregnant, but after she was born I relapsed. It was horrible. I was chewing on 100 mcg fentanyl patches. My tolerance was through the roof. I’m lucky to be alive. But ever since getting on Subutex, my life has completely changed. I stay home and raise my daughter. I’m not in the streets looking for my next fix. I’m not stealing, lying, scamming, etc. I am at home, doing really well. Actually, it’s the first time in my life I’ve ever been truly happy. After 4 years in prison and over 15 years of active addiction, I decided to give Subutex a go. Clean going on 5 years now.

This is by far the best pain medicine I’ve been on for chronic pain. I have severe neck issues as well as lower back issues that I will have for the rest of my life. About five years ago, someone mentioned this drug to me and that it may help with pain even though its use is to help users to get off opiates. I wasn’t a drug user, however, I was able to get onto this drug by agreeing that I took more pain medicine than I should’ve at one point. I’ll never forget the day I went onto this drug. I walked out of the doctor’s office with a pain level of two, which I hadn’t felt in years! I am so grateful that I have a life now where I can move around instead of being in pain all day long, as the opiates really weren’t working as well and nothing close to what I’m feeling now. I tell everyone I know of my Subutex journey. I’m glad I found this site so I can share it with you.

I’m so pleased to read so many comments that Subutex has saved people’s lives because since being found unconscious from a massive overdose in a gutter and according to the paramedics, 5-10 minutes from death (which took 12 hours on an antidote machine to regain consciousness), I too can testify that Subutex has saved my life. Obviously, your circumstances and support network are also vital, however, Subutex is a miracle! I only wish we could respond to each other on here and converse in a therapeutic and helpful way to those who may be in a dire situation with addiction and feel they have no way out. TRUST ME PLEASE, with SUBUTEX YOU DO!! Addicts fear withdrawals from methadone far, far more than even heroin, but Subutex is totally different, has minimal side effects, and you can stay on it for years without it degrading your health. Subutex has enabled me so that I do not have to spend all day, every day obsessing about my next score and have focus and regain a taste for life and living.

Subutex saved my life. Over the years, I was on different treatments and also just cold turkey. Eventually, I would return back to the same drug behavior. Until I found out about Subutex. I’ve been taking it for about 8 years and no relapse. Thanks to Subutex.

It has not reduced my pain. I suffer from RA and multiple skeletal issues. 4 Knee replacements, fused lumbar, 1 hip replacement, 1 severe arthritis, left arm was crushed w/multiple surgeries to repair. The only change has been that pain meds seem to work better, but only for a bit. The biggest problem is that the doctor pushes Subutex to the point of poorly managing the pain. With multiple issues this drug is not right for me. The only thing that works for me low dose er and the ability to have a low dose break through med.

I have been on and off the suboxone and now on the subutex for the last 12 months and I’ve found it so much better in so many ways. It’s been super helpful but also super annoying and holding me back in a lot of ways, like not being able to go away for more than 5 days at a time having to go into pharmacy weekly etc etc and also trying to over come the pains and hang outs to get off of it all together so I’m changing to the injection at end of this month and hoping it works and helps me become clean off subutex

i had difficulty controlling my dosages on fast acting opiates for pain which led to taking far too much. I transitioned to subutex and it’s been effective for the pain without the compulsion to take more.

Although Subutex saved my life and stopped my dependency on over-the-counter codeine products over eight years ago (I have never used any street opiates), it has provided a barrier to me receiving any pain relief for my back condition. The chronic pain I have experienced has caused me to go from quite a stable, happy person to a withdrawn, lonely person within a year. I cannot face people in this amount of pain, I cannot look after my place either. I cannot clean, I cannot stand for long periods, and I certainly cannot bend my body in any way because of pain. This is actually a diagnosed back condition I have, caused by a disc bulge in my lower back. Looks like I am now sentenced to a lifetime of disability through untreated, unmanaged pain. I also have a MASSIVE phobia of any medical settings and medical procedures that would usually require pain relief during or after now too. No help with ANY of it has ever been offered due to this med. Currently on 2.8 mg from 8 in 8 years.

I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia 12 years back. The pain was extreme the first year I was diagnosed. I was prescribed an overload of opioids and Xanax, along with the other basic treatment program. It only gave me minor relief, my life was over. The pain became so extreme, I had several shingles outbreaks, and then the shingles went into my nervous system (postherpetic neuralgia). I did some research about Subutex trials for fibro pain. I did have to beg an addiction doctor to take me on for pain management. They agreed, but I had to leave the Xanax and opioids behind to receive treatment. It was difficult to make the sudden change, my anxiety took some time to manage, but the pain relief was astounding. Finding a doctor who will use Subutex for pain management is not easy, but for me, it is worth the extra effort.

I have been on subutex for 15 years and I only tried to use once but it never worked this drug saved my life I started on 16mg and very slowly reduced my self down to 0.2 mg I stopped taking that 72 hours ago and so far no withdrawals except few false yawns sneezing and streaming eyes but no stomach cramps and no restless legs I had no control over my heroin use but they day I started subutex all my cravings went – using once in 15 years is a miracle. I highly recommend subutex I was IV user and methadone addict. And now I’m totally drug free. You have to want to get clean for this drug to work but if you believe in its ability this drug will save your life. Thank you doctors, thanks subutex my wonder drug.

Well I agree with plenty of comments regarding how helpful it can be. Just feel it’s ruining my insides, teeth and bones after being on it so long/9-10 years, but then again as others have said may stay on it for life because not getting any younger etc & is it worth risking relapse?! I don’t even smoke weed or cigarettes anymore. Have used on top about a handful of times which isn’t too bad in nigh on a decade because luckily had helpful Keyworker’s. What the Pandemic rarely see Counselors let alone GP’s so it’d take forever to get back on it. Was on 20mg now 12 + a weekly script as can’t tolerate that daily Supervised Dose malarkey. Really makes feel DOWN/inadequate etc. Did try the Monthly injection recently to get off Buph’ however had 0 energy + the lethargy is overwhelming. Slowly does it when coming off this with plenty of Relaxation.

I am 44 and lived with chronic pain most of my life. I have a list of issues that caused my pain, including fracturing my back. I was on every pain medication you can think of, down to injectable hydromorphone. Every injury I got, I had to increase doses for the pain meds to work… I was so tired of being on the rollercoaster ride. I felt like the pain was taking me down… it got super costly because insurance wouldn’t cover any of the meds anymore. I finally decided I am DONE! I went into detox treatment to say goodbye once and for all to all the pain meds. I was given Subutex in treatment to detox me off all the other crap. It was still a rough detox because if you take it too soon after stopping the other meds, you go through precipitated withdrawals. Lucky me… anyways, Subutex saved my life. I am now on 2 x 8 mg in the morning and half in the evening. Subutex manages my pain way better than even hydromorphone. It lasts much longer than any other med too. I really have my life back now.

15 years on subutex in the UK, now have a job, family, house, big motorcycle. I have been stable for many years and have noticed that different batches of subutex can be slightly different but this last batch, b.n 023103 is the worst. I feel so bad I even feel like quitting my job as it has been a huge struggle for 2 months. My symptoms are like withdrawals I can function but its very hard, I haven’t used in many years. Trying to get help is almost impossible so had to contact indivior myself which was not easy. Now I’m hopefully getting a different batch sent to my pharmacy but will they be better and how long will the batch last I don’t know. Have tried generic sandoz but in the past they were inferior to subutex. Don’t be fooled into thinking all buprenorphine is made the same. Hope this helps someone to not be in my shoes as It seems there is no real forums in the uk or support of this kind.

My experience with subutex and suboxone, it’s good to get clean and clear minded… But in the end you have to pay the piper. The withdrawals are far worse than any opiate other than Fentanyl

I was on Subutex for 3 years because Suboxone gives me migraines. I was an IV heroin addict for 6 years before starting Subutex. In 3 years, I had zero cravings, got my life together, and had a beautiful son who experienced minimal withdrawal symptoms after being born. Subutex changed my life. The only negative side effects were a lack of sex drive and constipation. I weaned from 16 mg to 0.25 mg in about 5 months. I stopped taking Subutex 18 days ago. Withdrawal symptoms didn’t start until day 7. Withdrawal was minimal after tapering so low. I am experiencing some depression now, but the cravings are nonexistent still. Subutex gave me the clean time I needed to stay clean after Subutex. I would recommend this medication to anyone trying to stop taking opioids or heroin. Many of my friends from addiction are now functional adults as well. Subutex and Suboxone are miracle medications.

I had a 10-year addiction to Vicodin. I have been on Subutex for 6 years now without relapsing once. I almost lost everything in my life before Subutex. I have been back to normal life for 7 years, working, have my own place, a better mom, because I’m not on that constant hunt for opioids. I take my med faithfully every day.

After taking pain relievers every day for years, I would be taking them just to avoid withdrawal. I literally woke up every day with withdrawal, and even if I wanted to stop, I couldn’t because I was so afraid of withdrawal. I was prescribed Subutex 8 mg twice a day. I was so scared it wouldn’t work or would have bad side effects, but I finally did it. I woke up with withdrawal as usual, and even though I was nervous and scared, I took the Subutex, and it worked! Totally stopped my withdrawal completely within a few minutes, the same or even better than if I had taken a Percocet. This is literally a miracle drug. I am still amazed at how well it works, absolutely zero withdrawal and absolutely zero bad side effects. I know how scared you are about going through withdrawal, but with this unbelievable drug Subutex, you can stop taking painkillers with no withdrawal. It’s really amazing. I hope this helps someone one day.

I am 65 years old and have been on pain medication for 40-plus years. I have severe kyphoscoliosis, degenerative disc disease, multiple levels of spondylosis, and herniated discs at levels L2-3 through L4-5. I have never abused my pain medication because I need it. I live in chronic pain, so I take it as prescribed. Additionally, like many older individuals, I have arthritis and ulcerative colitis, which prevents me from taking a lot of NSAIDs. I also have a tear in the rotator cuff of my left shoulder. Now, good people suffer because of the bad. The DEA has doctors paranoid about prescribing effective medications, so they are promoting Subutex and Suboxone. I tried Subutex for a couple of months, and it kept me from experiencing withdrawal symptoms due to lack of medication, but it did not help with pain at all. Everyone reacts differently to medication, so each patient should be evaluated by a doctor. The DEA does not have an MD behind their name or any other medical degree. They should focus on heroin and fentanyl users/abusers, not on legitimate people in pain.

I have an entrapped nerve. Used the 5 mcg patches for ages with no side effects. Then skin reaction. Then tried Fentanyl patches. I HATE feeling high. Weaned myself to 1/6 of a 12.5 mcg patch. Tried Butrans patch again because I liked it so much. Patches burned my skin even with Flonase. Taking 2 mg. Began five days ago. Day one, 2 tablets 12 hours apart. Day two, 1 tablet after 17 hours. Day three, 1 tablet after 18 hours. Day four, 1 tablet after 23 hours. For me, I need to stay really hydrated. In the first 2-3 hours after taking, I perspire profusely. I also have a ton of anxiety that subsides after about the 4th hour. Each day, I’ve gone longer between doses. I’m going to give it two weeks and see how I’m doing. I’ve had to use 1 or 2 mg of hydromorphone once a day in the first 10 hours for breakthrough pain. Once I get through the first part, I forget I’m taking it! Hope it continues to work. HATE feeling high.

I had been prescribed many prescriptions over my lifetime and never got addicted to any of them except opiates. Doctors were giving me pain medicine for various things such as surgeries, prescribing me Percocet and hydrocodone. I got in a car accident and got put on a consistent amount of pain medicine every month, and my tolerance shot through the roof within a very few short months. For 2 years, I was on consistent, everyday hydrocodone treatment, and my habit reached anywhere from 250mg hydrocodone to 400mg hydrocodone per day. I was scared to try Subutex, not wanting to give up my addiction, and scared it would not work. The doctor prescribed me 24mg a day, and it is the best decision I’ve ever made. Absolutely no withdrawal. Absolutely zero bad side effects. Subutex is a miracle drug. If you’re reading this and you’re having trouble deciding on whether to get Subutex, ask your doctor to let you give it a try. It’s worth every penny. I have energy, and every day on it has been great!

I’ve been on subs for ten years now, was the only way to stop 16 years of addiction to heroin without relapsing, but this drug is harder to get clean from compared to heroin. I tried for one week and it was hell, I’ve never been in so much pain. My bones hurt so much, felt like ants running in my blood, the sweat, the shivering, no sleep at all. It is hell 10 times worse than heroin. If you start taking subs, take it only for a couple of weeks. After that, you can’t stop taking it. I’m reducing it now to 4 ml a day. I want to stop taking it as I’ve been told the long-term use of subs is not good for your health. All the best to all.

Omg, never been so ill, kicking my whole body, jumping. I’m an ex-UK Royal Marine. I’m not a wimp – my god, not good! I had been off fentanyl 150 mcg for 72 hours, was clucking. I’m in agony. I was shot in both knees, then Subutex made it worse.

It helped me to get clean and lead a productive life, but I’ve been dependent on buprenorphine for twice as long as I was hooked on pain pills. I’m finally trying to come off of it after 6 long years, and if I had known how hard it is to come off of it, I would’ve never taken this route. I’m thankful that it helped me to lead a “normal” life, but the withdrawals are so much more intense than opioids. If doctors would prescribe this medicine short term and at a low dosage, it would be a perfect solution, but typically they put you on the highest dose possible and suggest you stay on it for a long time. It’s really sad, and it makes me angry that doctors prescribe this to people the way they do. If you need help getting off heroin or pain pills, I would recommend taking this medicine for a short time, and it will work wonders! But any longer, and you’ll just be trading one expensive addiction for another.

I had many surgeries in the past and, of course, became dependent on pain pills. Well, I started on Suboxone, then switched to Subutex. Now, 8 years later, I’m still clean from pain pills but completely dependent on Subutex. And like any addict, I took a little too much and now I’m out until my next appointment (which isn’t for another week). I am so scared because after 3 days without my meds, full withdrawal kicks in. I’m scared to death and don’t know what to do. My suggestion is, if you can kick your drugs without meds, do it, otherwise, you are just trading one addiction for another.

I have been addicted to heroin for 5 years and opioid pain pills for 26 years. Now since starting and continuing the Subutex for a little over 6 months, I really feel like with the care I receive from my doctor, medicine, intake meetings, and my counselor that I’m headed in the right direction for the first time in years. Thank you all for your comments as well because you all are one of the big factors in me starting Subutex in the first place. I can honestly say, hey, I know how y’all feel!!! God bless you all, keep your heads held high ’cause you’re worth it!!

I’ve been on Subutex for about nine years and have been taking it for off-label use for chronic pain. I’m kind of a split case because due to chronic pain and overprescribing pain medication, my new doctor at the time decided he wanted to try Subutex with me. This medicine has improved my quality of life beyond any other modality that I’ve tried. The only thing I will warn other people about is if you stay on the medicine for a long time and decide you want to stop taking it, it affects your brain chemistry so much that you may not recognize yourself. This happened to me and the lights just went out. I was sick for weeks but more than that I couldn’t think straight and made terrible decisions. Not until I was placed back on my medication at a very low dose did I regain my sense of self. I think I may be on this medication forever.

I have tried Suboxone and methadone, but Subutex is by far the best! It saved my life. I was addicted to H for about 10 years, and I got a doctor to prescribe me Subutex and watch me closely, along with weekly drug tests. And I have been the most clean ever in 10 years. I can walk with my head held high now. Feels real good to be normal again!

Sübutex is, in my opinion, the best drug on the market for opioid addiction. In the past, I have been prescribed both Subutex and methadone to combat addiction, and found the withdrawal from Subutex far more manageable than that of methadone, a factor that a lot of people take into consideration when using meds of this sort. It (Subutex) is, however, open to abuse, whereas methadone isn’t, the reason a lot of practitioners are wary of prescribing Subutex, and will prescribe Suboxone as an alternative. I’ve had no problems using ‘subbys’ and recommend them for anyone trying to kick an opioid addiction.

Have had Fibromyalgia for 16 yrs. I started with the regular narcotics until I was building such a tolerance that I was on a roller coaster with pain relief and then the tolerance. Finally, my doctor put me on Subutex (actually the generic) and have had very good pain relief since 2007 with only one raise in dosage. I take 8mg three times a day without a high or loopy feeling. It even helps with that debilitating burning fatigue. I am so thankful that there is something out there that can give decent quality of life. I am out of my bed and can do some things around the house with breaks. I can walk some for exercise. Fibromyalgia had me in bed most of the time. Of course, everyone is different and everyone responds differently to different drugs.

So I have a pretty good dependency on painkillers, oxycodone 15 mg to be exact. I was snorting about 120 to 210 mg a day, it varied from day to day. I have a buddy that had some Subutex. I bought 8, 8 mg pills from him, and I’ve been slicing them into quarters, and it has killed all withdrawal symptoms. I am using the Subutex to come off of taking opiates since 2013. I haven’t had any oxy in 4 days, I think, and have 4 subs left. I hope this works because I am sick of being a slave to oxy.
