I can’t begin to tell you how much Tramadol has helped my anxiety. I have taken Valium for 15 years and tried every antidepressant under the sun. Valium aside, the rest had terrible side effects and were too strong even at the mildest dose. Two years ago, I had bowel surgery and was given Tramadol. Oh my god-what a game changer! Better mood, more energy, less worry, less OCD, more relaxed…it felt like cement was removed from my forehead. My GP gave it to me for a few months but then couldn’t prescribe it for anxiety. I then started buying it OTC in Thailand and found that splitting a 50mg capsule over 3 days was the perfect micro dose for me. Recently, a new doctor I am seeing has recognized the validity in it helping me so much and has started prescribing me the oral drops, which are 2.5mg per drop. I just take 5 drops in the morning (15mg), and it has changed my life! Best anti-anxiety medication for me on the planet.

i was suffering from anxiety . i tried so many doctors to cure but at end one doctor suggest me to use tramadol then it worked for me its like it saved my life

For many years, tramadol is the only thing that works for RLS. The ONLY thing. I’ve tried every other medication recommended for this. Cutting out sugar and exercise helps, but nothing takes away the RLS completely… only tramadol. It works best when taken about dinner time. It takes about 2 hours to kick in. Life saver. No side effects I’m aware of.

I had severe Lyme in ’99, requiring 6 months of IV antibiotics. A year later, I developed chronic pain, diagnosed as fibromyalgia. I call it Lyme’s arthritis. I was prescribed oxy, requiring a pill every 4 hrs., producing addiction and withdrawals. It was hell. I then took morphine ER, reducing it over time. It also produced withdrawals, and I didn’t like feeling ‘high.’ I just needed pain relief, to be functional. Several years ago, I was prescribed Tramadol, up to 150 mg/day. I usually take 100 mg. Godsend! As a synthetic opioid, it’s as if they deleted the mental ‘high’ and left the pain relief. Plus, no withdrawals. Thank you!!! As a Schedule IV drug, it has a lower possibility of addiction (correct!). I’ve had depression since I was a child. The pain relief allows me to be productive, improving it. Please see the Diary of a CEO podcast with the Stanford Addiction Clinic doctor re: dopamine and addiction. It’s not you, it’s your body. Bless.

Was prescribed tramadol after surgery for pain. It seems to work pretty well for the most part, no major side effects.

Tramadol saved my life. I had depression for 10 years between 8 and 18 years old, tried several antidepressants with no success. One day, shortly after coming out of the ER for a suicide attempt, I took 200 mg of tramadol without knowing anything about its possible use for depression, and the depression just went away for around 2 days. After that, I decided to take 100 mg every 12 hours, and it worked really well, the depression never came back. After 4 years, I decided to stop because I have sleep apnea and tramadol can worsen this condition. I divided the dosage in half every week or two until it was less than 12 mg, and then I stopped. I took 50 mg of pregabalin for the first day or two to avoid physical withdrawal symptoms, then nothing, and I barely felt any discomfort. Please note I’m probably lucky, it doesn’t seem to be so easy to stop for most people. I’ve stopped for two weeks, and I don’t feel depressed or anything. I’m still keeping it in case I need it again one day.

I have been on pages and pages of medication for 30 plus years (plus ketamine/TMS/Biofeedback/Therapy, etc.). The trial periods of a new drug, waiting and hoping to see if it works for months, the letdown that it never worked, the severe withdrawals, the severe side effects, then repeat for 30 years, so sad. Then I was prescribed Tramadol for pain. One hour later it was like I was alive. I have had several doctors tell me that this medication is the only medication that helps many of their patients, but they are afraid to prescribe it. As little as 25mg per day is life-changing for me. I take 50mg 1-2 times a day now. Luckily, I have severe back issues, so I pray that I will be able to have access to this medication. It literally has given me a life.

Tramadol is a lifesaver for my fibromyalgia pain. I take 1 50 mg pill, and the effects often last 48 hours. So, I take it every other day or every third day. Extremely helpful in reducing pain, extremely helpful in giving me my energy back. Lifts my mood entirely because it’s such a relief not to be exhausted and in pain all the time. The only downside for me is that it does dehydrate me quite a bit, so if I don’t drink a ton of water, I will get a headache by the next morning. But that headache is worth the pain relief in the body.

Have taken a few times before. 100-200 mg works like a charm for RLS. You won’t be able to feel your legs at all. It is fine to take during the day and better than other opioids like oxycodone or Vicodin because it does not make you nearly as tired, but it will give you a mood boost. 50 mg works a little bit, but 100 mg is when you really feel it working.

Tramadol worked for me alongside antidepressants amazingly, where none of the antidepressants had given me a calm, relaxed, and happy mind rather than tramadol. But the only thing I’m scared about is an overdose because I take 650 mg per day.

I’ve had three back operations, and I’m still in pain. Tramadol is the best medication I’m on out of everything: 8 50mg pills per day. It takes the edge off my pain, and I know when I need more. I’ve tried so many other meds that don’t work, or I can’t function on or hold a conversation. Tramadol helps with my pain, and I can function with it and with other meds as a mix. I do get slightly constipated with it. That’s the only downside. Other meds help me with that. I’ve now been on this for over 10 years. It’s the best for me. It’s very easy to take with a glass of water.

For over 31 years, I’ve taken low dose Vicodin and then low dose Norco (1/2 of a 10-325 Norco in the morning and sometimes another 1/2 in the afternoon according to mood). I had the same beneficial impact as people are saying Tramadol has for them. Since my HMO refuses to prescribe any Norco for me, I had to find a substitute. Our Jack Terrier, who just passed away, took one of his leftover Tramadol (50 mg). It worked perfectly-just like my 1/2 Norco. The best word I can use is ‘alert.’ The Norco and Tramadol do not make me high or sleepy. Even while asleep, I am ‘alert.’ I do not mean awake; this alertness is something Norco and Tramadol give me right alongside good sleep and good being awake. I am just alert with no depression (which I’ve had since a teenager; I’m 80 now). My HMO gave me Narcan so I could buy Norco on the street, and if I got Fentanyl, I could self-medicate myself. I had gotten my prescription for over 30 years from non-HMO doctors, but they died.

Miracle pill, absolute miracle. I only got a few doses and was told no more. I suffer from a broken foot and arthritis. I’m not a drug seeker or have a history of drug use, but this pill helped me out so much. It is addictive, so unless you’re on it long-term, avoid. I’m hurting so bad right now.

I had a motorcycle accident and broke my wrist in two. 1st Ortho just gave me Celecoxib, which wasn’t enough. 2nd Ortho put me in a cast and prescribed Tramadol with Ibuprofen. Pretty good but made me incredibly sleepy. But killed my fractures pinching pain.

I have been taking Tramadol for 20 years. Thanks to Tramadol, I was able to kick my antidepressants and my Ritalin. Tramadol has been a life changer for me. Even though I have been taking it for 20 years, I only need one pill every few days to keep my depression and anxiety under control. I also have so much energy when I take it. My fibromyalgia causes me extreme fatigue, and one pill helps me get back on my feet. I stopped taking Ritalin after my hair started to fall out, thankfully, Tramadol helps me focus and get my work done, and it makes me feel more confident in myself, and my work proves that it works! I suffer from anxiety, but Tramadol allows me to let things go and not bother me. Life feels good. Tramadol has given me back my life, and I would be devastated if it was ever taken away from me. I do not abuse it, ever, because my quality of life is the best it can be because of Tramadol, the last thing I would want is to develop a tolerance and have it stop working.

This medication could save lives and helps resist serious stress and anxiety during the worst times of life. Tramadol was the most effective treatment that I had for extreme stress and anxiety, and I had been prescribed probably all psychiatric pharmacopoeia before finding tramadol. However, it is noticeably harmful to health, requires extreme caution, and definitely is not for everyone. It’s so wrong that you have to go through the terrifying experience of dealing with pathetic cowards who are afraid to prescribe this medicine, preferring the safety of their millions of dollars instead of providing the most efficient treatment (for some people, at least). I can say that tramadol has saved my life.

Every single time I’ve taken tramadol, it’s never once helped with anything. I think if everyone who’s actually taken this drug reviews it, you’d get more responses like mine. The doctors hype this drug up more than they should. They want you to believe it actually helps. Maybe for someone who only thinks they hurt, only then it may help. Some of us who have really bad pain, at least start giving us something that actually works.

Tramadol has been great for me. Hydrocodone and OxyContin take only about 20-30 minutes before I begin to feel relief, but tramadol takes even longer. Tramadol takes about an hour for it to kick in after I take it, but when it finally does, it works fantastically. It doesn’t make me feel quite as ‘high’ as the other opioids, and it seems to last longer as well. Hydrocodone or OxyContin give me insomnia when taken at night. Sure, I feel great and have far less pain, but inevitably I lay there high as a kite and wide awake all night. I’m always exhausted the next morning and day. With tramadol, the insomnia and itchiness side effects are far less. I usually take 10mg for severe pain, and 5mg if it’s less severe. A doctor once gave me a prescription for tramadol 100mg 24-hour slow-release formula – I hated it! It made me feel sick as a dog for a couple of days, so I never took another one.

I had a bad herniated disc 2 years ago with sciatica nerve pain too. My doctor put me on tramadol with gabapentin. Let me tell you that for me, tramadol did wonders. Now I take it as needed and never felt the need to take more and never felt any withdrawals being without it for weeks on and off. Very, very good medication. I rate it 100, not 10!!! (at least for me)!!!

I had depression diagnosed since I was a teenager. I was prescribed many antidepressants, none helped. I managed to work, but it was hard to get out of bed. My physician gave me tramadol after leg surgery, and something changed! I was smiling! I didn’t know why. I told my doctor, and he was kind enough to continue it. It feels like a miracle… I remember how to laugh, enjoy simple things. Hope that it continues.

Requip for RLS augments over time and makes symptoms worse (coming on earlier in the day and stronger symptoms) and also causes “poor impulse control.” Botox injections (200 units per calf) worked on the injected area, but I had breakthrough pain elsewhere in my lower legs. I’m now on tramadol, and if this doesn’t work, the only other option is a low-level dose of methadone. I’m grateful to be under the care of a pioneer movement disorder researcher/neurologist in Houston, TX, even though it’s a 4.5 hr drive for appointments. I’m hopeful after reading all the positive comments about tramadol on their RLS.

Tramadol has been a lifesaver for my pain. I do have some unpleasant side effects, but overall it has helped with my fibromyalgia pain and other issues regarding the spine, back, and leg. I have taken it for a long time, but I had to switch doctors, and she would not renew the script. My pain increased so much I was in tears, any replacement did not work. My pain management doctor just recently prescribed it for me again. He is awesome. I had to sign an opioid contract and take a pee test. Doctors are hesitant to prescribe opioids because so many people become addicted or abuse pain medication. I could write a book about all the pain issues I have, I have a high sensitivity to all medications, but I just want you to know that my experience with tramadol has been positive.

I have found that over the course of five years, a dose of 100 mg of IR Tramadol, ranging to 200 mg of ER Tramadol was the fastest acting, most thoroughly effective, and best tolerated medication to treat my severe, treatment-resistant depression. I have tried SNRIs, SSRIs, and a combination. Frequently, my worst bouts of depression have been accompanied by chronic low back pain. This was also effectively relieved. I suffer from anxiety, and the perfect medication combination to make me feel ‘normal,’ that is, happy and calm, has been alprazolam and tramadol. Perfect combination. Unfortunately, it has been nearly impossible to find physicians to prescribe these medications together or alone. Finally, more scientific literature is emerging to make a case for tramadol for depression. It’s long overdue!

Tramadol works for depression even at a very low dose of half a 50 mg. This is important to avoid addiction.

I am 44 years old. Been suffering from bouts of depression since teenage years. Last year (2022) had a house fire and I suffered burns on my arm. My 9-year-old son suffered burns on his leg. He was hospitalized and suffered a low blood sugar crisis and passed away. Physical pain and emotional pain brought on serious depression. I was suicidal. I was prescribed Tramadol for the pain but realized that when I took it, my depression dissolved. I have since been taking 50mg, sometimes 100mg, a day. Tramadol has saved my life.

It helped the pain and I wasn’t drowsy and was able to do my normal activities.

I take 50 mg three times a day and it works for bad leg pain and swelling in my leg but Tramadol is working great for me. I’m so happy that it works for me. I’m sure it works for leg pain.

I’ve been on 300 mg of Tramadol daily for the past 10 due to chronic back issues. After years on it, I felt I built a tolerance and could manage my pain with exercise and injections. I read reviews for about 2 years before stopping and stayed on it far too long for fear of withdrawal. I finally decided I was done and spoke to my doctor about stopping. He told me to eliminate 1 – 50mg pill per week (I took 6 daily). That seemed too easy, but I trusted him. I did what he suggested after 6 weeks I stopped. To my surprise, I had 0 signs of withdrawal. That was over 6 months ago. I am so happy, and annoyed that I waited so long. I realize everyone’s experience is different, but I had to share because I wasn’t able to find any positive reviews on this topic. If you’re thinking of quitting, don’t let fear stop you. For me, it was that easy.

My husband had horrible fibromyalgia symptoms until he started taking Tramadol and Cymbalta. He got his life back, even started jogging again and now his rheumatologist told him he can’t take Tramadol anymore. I’m so confused. It’s the difference between him living a normal happy life or him living in pain and disabled.

My doctor prescribed me Tramadol 50mg for occasional acute pain. I had been using Vicoprofen. I have mild to moderate tinnitus, and NSAIDs cause the condition to worsen. I asked for a non-NSAID pain reliever, and that’s why my doctor prescribed Tramadol. I have found that during times of moderately severe tinnitus when it becomes stressful and actually causes headaches, the Tramadol is VERY effective. It actually seems to calm the tinnitus and eliminates the stress and anxiety to the point of mild euphoria. I only take Tramadol about once a week, so I have experienced no change in efficacy after 6 months. I do not have a tendency towards addiction, but I could imagine this drug might be abused due to its pleasant effects.

I take 25-50 mg Tramadol for back pain with 1-2 Arthritis Tylenol every morning. I have 8 damaged discs in my back which cause really painful mornings. I noted right away that I feel happier and more energetic even on my bad back pain days. I never take more than prescribed. I remain comfortable for 8-10 hours. Usually moving around eases the pain. Tramadol alleviates the sad/bad mood caused by the pain. I have no tolerance issues. I can skip a day without any problems. It definitely seems like an antidepressant medication to me.

It treats depression and pain both effectively! 100% I promise you gotta get the right generic! 🙂

I have Major Depressive Disorder and Borderline Personality Disorder, and I feel so much happier and generally pleasant to be around (not just tolerable) when I have been on Tramadol. I feel like I’m more in control of my emotions/reactions, especially the angry ones.

I started taking this before it was a narcotic. I was an every weekend binge drinker. I noticed immediately that I didn’t want to drink. After a few weeks, my mood was good, energy was up, and all anxiety was gone. I’m still on tramadol and have also stopped several times with no withdrawal. I’ve seen several people say they stopped drinking or fixed their anxiety or depression. Also, someone who used it to get off of suboxone. Since it’s easy to stop taking and works well for more than just pain, they made it a narcotic. Now, doctors are scared to use it and it’s compared to hard opiates when it’s nothing like those. It works just as well for mental health as it does for pain and should be studied instead of pushed to the side as a normal evil painkiller.

Tramadol is a miracle pill for pain and depression as a combination! Highly recommended!

Was on this for pain. No one told me it acts like a SNRI, like Effexor, which I was already on. I wasn’t tapered off Tramadol and had withdrawals. I guess it helped the pain.

After trying several antidepressants, Tramadol by far works best and fastest!

I have been taking pramipexole on prescription for some time now. I had to take tramadol to relieve hip pain. I discovered that my RLS disappeared to my delight. I take one 37.5mg tablet with one 500mg paracetamol. No side effects.

Stumbled across Tramadol by accident for a toothache at the ER. Doctor wrote me a script in 2010, and taking 200mg per day, no more, no less, not only gave me relief from fibromyalgia, but the BEST antidepressant I ever took in my life as well as cured my CFS.

Thank God above for Tramadol! I was nervous when they decided it was a controlled substance, but my doctor understands what I went through before. 100 mg at 3pm and 100 mg at 9pm. I can’t even relax and watch a movie without it, my RLS and RAS are so bad! Never have taken more or less for many many years!

I was prescribed Tramadol for back pain due to DDD and scoliosis. It does take the edge off my pain, but my depression is gone! I’m 48 years old and cannot remember a time that I didn’t feel depressed since maybe age 10. It has increased my energy levels to the point where I can work a full-time job again. I’ve run out before and forgot to call it in. I’m on 50 mg a day and I didn’t feel any withdrawal. Doctors really need to rethink this as an option for an antidepressant.

The best medicine ever for pain and depression both! It works well. I’ve been on and off for about 7 years. It’s a miracle pill if you find a good generic, some are horrible! But read your generic before you take it and look it up because I had one brand I wouldn’t recommend. It’s called Chat Unichem, it’s horrible! The best brands, in my opinion, are Teva, Sun, and ACI!

I have been on tramadol a little over a year and a half for a delayed union fracture of my femur. It’s worked great, however, with this last refill, I got a different brand. They’re yellow tablets with 355/u on them, and they don’t seem to be working as well as the football-shaped Teva brand. I haven’t used more than 3 a day and don’t take it every day, only when needed. I’m wondering if anyone else has noticed this with different brands.

Tramadol is a game-changer. I knew that I was depressed but didn’t know how to go about reversing the situation. Long story short, tramadol came to the rescue. For the first time in a long while, I woke up feeling so mercurial on the inside. I communicated more with my wife and couldn’t help the loving thoughts that were surging out of me toward my wife. I just started helplessly loving her and longed for her. This is incredibly and indescribably surreal. I truly feel better. All the heaviness in the head and stiff neck are gone. Thanks.
